How to Get Your Gear Mounted Like a Pro
Step 1: Gather Your Gear
- Ensure you have your DQD Mount body, heads, feet, and any gadgets you plan on mounting (cameras, scopes, etc.).
- A small padlock if you're into locking things down.
Step 2: Choose Your Foot
- Decide where you want to mount your gear.
- Pick the appropriate foot for your surface - whether it's a tripod, tree, car, or your grandma's knitting machine.
- Attach the foot to the mount body by aligning it and attaching it to the body with two 10-32 screws.
Step 3: Mount Your Gadget
- Select the head that matches your gadget.
- Place your gadget onto the head.
- Look for the attachment point on your gear. It's usually a screw or mount compatible with our system.
- Screw or lock your gadget onto the head. Make sure it's snug; we don't want anything flopping around.
- DQD recommends the use of blue loctite if using screws.
Step 4: Head Attachment
- Line up the head with the mount body.
- Push the head down and push the paddle in until it locks into place. Remember, this part looks like... well, let's say it's anatomically amusing.
Step 5: The Paddle Button
- That cheeky little button on the front of the mount body? That's your paddle.
- To release your gadget, press the paddle and lift your gear off. It should come off quicker than your last New Year's resolution.
Step 6: Switching Gear
- To switch between different gadgets, just repeat steps 3 and 4.
- The beauty here is speed - think of it as speed dating for your equipment.
Step 7: Secure Locking (Optional)
- If you're worried about your gear running off or getting nicked, slide a small padlock through the designated hole on the paddle to keep your mount faithful.
Step 8: Testing
- Give your setup a gentle shake. If it's not coming loose, you're golden.
- Test in various conditions if you're planning on using it outdoors or in "dynamic" environments.
Step 9: Maintenance
- Our mounts are tough, but a little love goes a long way. Keep them clean, especially if they've been through mud or rain.
- Check for any wear and tear. DQD Mounts are built to last, but like any relationship, they need a bit of attention.
Step 10: Enjoy
- Now that your gear is mounted like it's meant to be, go out there and do whatever it is you do with your now perfectly secured equipment. Whether it's photography, hunting, or just showing off to your friends.
Note: If at any point you feel like you're doing something wrong because things aren't fitting or clicking, you might just be putting the head on backwards. Or maybe you need to consult the manual. But let's be honest, who reads those? If you have any questions give us a call, email or check out our youtube channel.
Remember, with DQD Mounting Systems, mounting has never been this quick, secure, and slightly suggestive. Now, go out there and mount with confidence!
